Over the past couple of months I have been having a lot of back pain, and had a CT scan done which resulted in a procedure called a Nerve Block Injection (spine-health/treatment/injections/selective-nerve-root-blocks-snrb-and-facet-joint-injections.) The procedure went very well and will be looking after my back health in a very different light from now on. For the last 20 hours or so, due to the effects of the local they used, my left leg was numb just like your face is after a gum injection for any dental work. Having my leg immobilised like this gave me a very small insight however brief into what it would be like being paralysed in just one limb. I had to pick my leg up with my hands to place it on the couch while I rested. This was a very humbling experience and I am so grateful to live in such a wonderful country where we can get help like this due to our healthcare system in Australia. Please do take care of your body, we take it for granted far too much, eat healthy food, cook fresh food and vegies and get plenty of sunshine and exercise and dont sit in front of the bloody computer like I have done for the past 20 years. Use it or lose it. My Rant for the day!
