PASTOR HAROLD E. TRAMMELL told this story during one of his sermons. Back in his day, when children disobeyed their parents, there were consequences. He knew that when he disobeyed his mother, she would certainly spank him. However, he also knew that if he screamed loud enough and cried hard enough, his father would step in and say thats enough!, and his mother would submit and not take another hit. But he found that if he disobeyed his father, his father would spank him, but if his mother tried to intervene, his father would tell her oh no, mother. Go on back in the other room, I got hold of this boy now! And she would submit, and go her way. He explained that when the world is beating up on us, God can step in and cease all action against us. But when we find ourselves being chastised by God, aint nothing nobody can do about it. Saints of God, we need to get out of Gods business. When people make decisions to be outside of Gods will, we dont have a right to try to halt the process of Gods consequences. All we can do is give them Gods word and pray with and for them. We cant fight for them, we dont even have a right to make their process harder and the only ONE we can speak to on their behalf is God when we plead for mercy on them. We tend to make situations a whole lot worse when when we go sticking our noses in Gods business.
