PDP Crisis: Against All Challenges,We Wont Repose Your Confidence in Us-G7 Gov Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Niger State Governor, Dr Mua’zu Babangida Aliyu, has assured the North that the New PDP G7 governors and their supporters will not betray the confidence reposed in them in the ongoing struggle for fairness and justice in the politics of the country. Babangida Aliyu who attended the turbaning of the new Talban Adamawa, Mr Daniel Madu Bwala, at the Lamido Adamawa palace yesterday, declared that the ongoing struggle by the Group of Seven (G7), was a worthy one, vowing that the group would not betray the confidence reposed in them by the North because, according to him, they were focused on injecting the ideals of democracy into Nigeria. He also appealed to former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, who also graced the occasion to continue to champion the cause of unity of the nation and the incorporation of the northern part of the country into the scheme of things in the country. He encouraged the former vice president, not to relent in his efforts in moving the nation forward, despite the odds against his lofty dreams for the Nigeria, as many were not oblivious of his standpoint toward socioeconomic growth of the nation. The Talban Minna, disabused the minds of some people in some quarters that the G7 were merely fighting for a Northern agenda, stressing that the unity of Nigeria was paramount, saying that the group was also concerned about instituting a good democratic culture for the country. According to him, the struggle by the G7 Governors was not only geared towards instituting political ideals in Nigeria but to leave a durable democracy in Nigeria for posterity and the future politicians, describing the struggle as a worthwhile one, contrary to the belief that the struggle had a religious and ethnic coloration. The chairman asked Nigerians to participate actively in the proposed National Conference, to discuss the problems affecting the various sections of the country as the reality had dawned on Nigerians to insist on peace. Dr Aliyu also canvassed the participation of traditional rulers in the proposed national conference because of their influence in society, wealth of wisdom and experience.
