PELIGROSONG MGA INSECTICIDE, ALAMIN Ni Juliet de Loza-Cudia Pinag-iingat ngayon ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ang publiko laban sa mga hindi rehistrado at nakalalasong mga household insecticides na nagkalat ngayon sa merkado. Sinabi ni FDA Acting General Manager Kenneth Hartigan-Go base sa FDA Advisory No. 2013-031 na kanyang inisyu, maaari umanong makasama sa kalusugan ng publiko ang mga aktibong sangkap ng mga unregistered insecticide products. Ayon pa kay Go, may mga insecticide rin na banned o ipinagbabawal sa Pilipinas at ang mga naturang toxic products ay ipinupuslit at itinatambak sa bansa. Kaugnay nito, nagpalabas ang FDA ng listahan ng mga insecticides sa aerosol cans, mga mosquito coils at body spray na nabibili ngayon sa merkado ngunit hindi umano dapat na bilhin ng publiko dahil hindi nakapasa sa safety at efficacy assessment ng FDA. Kabilang sa mga produkto na ayon sa FDA ay nakalalason at mapanganib sa kalusugan ng tao at maging ng mga hayop ay ang mga aerosol can spray na Tianshi Insect Killer 750 ml, Big Bie Pai Extra Power Flying Insect Killer 750 ml, Butiki Watebased Multi-Insect Killer - Jasmine 750 ml, General Toad Aerosol Insecticide 750 ml, Wawang Frogking Insecticide Aerosol 750 ml (Rose), Sun Universe Frogking Insecticide Aerosol Lemon 750 ml, Read a Dream Insecticide Spray 600 ml, Baolilai Aerosol Insecticide 750 ml, at Big Bie Pai Aerosol Insecticide 750 ml. Hindi rin umano dapat na gamitin ang mga unregistered toxic insecticides na Wawang Mosquito Coil, BaoMa Black Mosquito Repellent Incense Coil, Juzhongwang Black Mosquito Repellent Coil, Kingba Mini-Smoke Mosquito Repeller Coil, Tianshi Black Mosquito Repellent Incense Coil, Read A Dream Black Mosquito Repellant Incense Coil, Green Leaf Powder Cockroach Killing Bait 5g Powder (Sachet) at Natural Insect Repellent 50 ml Solution, na iniisprey sa katawan at damit.
