PF ON HOT PAN: DR GUY SCOTT WRITES THE CHIEF JUSTICE NOT TO ACCEPT ANY NOMINATIONS FROM PF WITHOUT HIS CONFIRMATION...TILL THE MATTER IS DISPOSED OF IN THE COURTS OF LAW ZAMBIA interim President, Dr Guy Scott, writing as Vice President of the ruling Patriotic Front, has advised the Chief Justice not to entertain anyone that would show up as a PF candidate before the partys presidential nomination impasse is resolved by the courts of law. Yesterday, a full bench of the Supreme Court ruled in favour of contenders Miles Sampa and others (Geoffrey Bwalya Mamba and Selemani Phangula Banda) in the matter in which the Matero MP Sampa sought to be included in the consent judgment fraudulently issued to Edgar Lungu and friends by his relative, High Court judge Mungeni Mulenga. In his letter, Dr Scott informed the Chief Justice that he was committed to ensuring the party followed its procedures as outlined by the PF constitution. He reiterated that the Chief Justice must not entertain anyone that would show up to file for the 20 January 2015 Presidential Bye-Election. The High Court is yet to set the date for the hearing of the matter as instructed by the Supreme Court. Compromised judges Mulenga and Chali had dismissed Sampa and said he was wasting the courts time, but the Supreme Court full bench instead ruled that the two judges are in essence the ones that were wasting the courts time.
