PLEA would like to thank everyone who exercised their Constitutional right to vote yesterday, especially those who voted against Proposition 487. Thanks to the combined efforts of our counterparts at United Phoenix Firefighters and the numerous volunteers who offered to walk neighborhoods and educate the public, a grass roots effort defeated what was funded and pushed by dark money and out of state interests. Keep in mind that this victory, while huge, is temporary, as there will be continued attacks on our pensions, wages, and other benefits. We will also have our work cut out for us in the upcoming session at the State Legislature, which is why we rely on our lobbyist, Mike Williams and Associates and Retired Phoenix Police Officer Levi Bolton, current Director of the Arizona Police Association to keep track of proposed legislation which affects our members, other peace officers, as well as the citizens we protect and serve.
