PLEASE SEE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT PAVING NEXT WEEK BETWEEN RICHMOND AND BOLTON!!! SCROLL DOWN PAST THE BOLTON-WATERBURY UPDATE. Work Update Bolton-Waterbury (Route 2) AOT Project No: STP 2709(1) Week of June 16th, 2014 Project Location: Route 2 – Parro’s Gun Shop in Waterbury west along Route 2 to just beyond Latham Trailer Sales in Bolton. Reclaiming – Crews will start reclaiming Route 2 from Jenny Davis Road and work towards Bolton. Reclaiming at the intersection of Route 2 and Little River Road will also be included in the work next week. Reclaiming consists of rototilling the existing milled pavement leaving the roadway a gravel surface. Motorists are encouraged to reduce speed and use caution when driving over the gravel roadway. Guardrail – Guardrail crews will be working near the Bolton/Waterbury town line. This work will require alternating one-way traffic around the construction zone. US Route 2 - Little River Road to Jenny Davis Road Crews will continue to concentrate on reshaping the road and rebuilding the stone slopes in the gravel roadway area between Little River Road and Jenny Davis Road. TRAFFIC DELAYS – ALL WORK will require reducing traffic to alternating one-way travel around the construction packages. Traffic control personnel will be present to assist in maintaining traffic flow. Motorists should anticipate traffic delays while traveling through the project and plan accordingly. Please allow for extra time in your travel plans. PAVING OF ROUTE 2 BETWEEN RICHMOND AND BOLTON Next week, VTrans will be milling and paving along Route 2 from Richmond to Bolton. Starting Monday, June 16th, crews will be milling along the curb on Main Street/Route 2 in Richmond from west side of town working east to just beyond the traffic signal at the Cumberland Farms. Paving will start on Tuesday, June 17th at the Mobil Station in Richmond and continue east thru Richmond Village just past the Bolton Richmond Town Line in Bolton. Crews are anticipating paving to take three days. Paving is contingent upon favorable weather conditions. If it rains, paving may be canceled and rescheduled for another time. Traffic delays can be expected as travel will be reduced to alternating one-way traffic around the construction zone. Flaggers will be present to assist in maintaining traffic flow. Motorists are encouraged to plan for delays and allow for extra time in travel plans. This paving project is not part of the Bolton-Waterbury Route 2 project nor is it part of the Richmond Park & Ride Project.
