***PLEASE SHARE*** *Temperatures Steady then Slowly Falling this Afternoon* *Major Winter Storm Wednesday 4am to 10pm* *Rain for most, Snow West, Timing the Change-over for Richmond* DETAILS – Cloudy skies will be over the region today and it will be mild with highs in the lower to middle 60s, but that will be in the morning. Our temperatures will slowly fall into the lower 50s by the late afternoon and evening. Overnight tonight our temperatures will fall back to near 40 as a large coastal system begins to develop off of the South Carolina coast and move its way northeast. This will spread rain into the majority of Central Virginia beginning as early as 4am. The rain will come down steady during the morning and afternoon. Areas to the west, along and west of US HWY 15 may start off with a little rain but the main precipitation will be heavy wet snow. Our coastal weather system will begin to lift toward New England late Wednesday night and early Thursday. As this happens the cold air will slide into the I-95 corridor north and west of Metro Richmond. For you snow lovers the timing may not work out, as the core of the cold air will come into Richmond, when the precipitation is mostly gone. So a switch over to some wet snow is likely, but accumulating snow for Metro Richmond is going to be hard to come by. Thanksgiving Day will feature partly sunny skies but another weak weather system will bring us a chance of showers during the afternoon. Sunshine is expected for Friday with highs in the middle 40s. Saturday will be a little better with sunny skies and highs in the middle 50s. Partly sunny skies will be over the region on Sunday with highs approaching 60.
