*POKEMON FAN FICTION* #KurosJourney Chapter 4: The Mining Town So, the people in Oreburgh just kinda decided that the mine would be enough. Its been bringing in enough income for the town and the rest for Gods know how long.. Curse continued on. Ah, here we are. He finished, pointing toward the end of the cave the were passing through. Kuro was completely in awe when they came out the other side of the exit. The furthest hed been from their own small village had been Jubilife up until this point. The smell of dry dirt and dust filled the air. The land was full of large looking men wearing hard hats carrying large beams and pieces of equipment around. Of on the other side of the town he could just make out what appeared to be a museum of some kind and he could hear the loud clinking of machinery and building work coming from the mines that Curse had been telling him about. They checked in at the Pokemon Center and as they sat down for a Coffee they spoke about where to go from here. Well the Gyms only a short distance from here. Explained Curse. The Leader is called Roark. Hes a master of Rock-Types. He continued. Well, looks like Im off to take on my first Gym then. Im so excited!! Exclaimed Kuro, brimming with enthusiasm. After their Pokemon had healed up, the set off for the Gym. A short walk of around ten minutes or so later, the reached the Gym. Here we go. Said Curse. They pushed open the door and walked into what looked like a some kind of waiting room. They were stopped by a short, stout man wearing thick brimmed glasses. He explained to them that Roark was currently in the mines and that theyd need to go and see him if they wished to challenge the Gym. So, somewhat disheartened, the pair left the Gym and headed for the mine. Well, at least we get tom see the mines while were here. Said Kuro, smiling. His jaw dropped once they turned the corner, for hat he saw amazed him so much. There were conveyor belts loading out different kinds of ores and rocks along to different buildings and coal over to a large slag heap. They walked towards the mouth of the rather daunting looking mine and were met by a small group of the workers there. The boys asked were Roark was working and they were told just to walk down and take the left path. As they entered the cave, all they were met with was noise and activity. Kuro was in total awe. There were people and Pokemon working and mining all around them. They were met with two paths and as instructed, the went left. After a short while, they finally saw Roark. He was a rather tall lanky man with long red hair and thin red-framed square glasses. He wore typical grey mining attire and an orange hard hat with a torch on it. Hey, you must be Roark. Started Curse. We went by the Gym, but they sent us here to find you. He finished. Roark apologized to them and the three began leaving the mines. As they approached the main area of the mine, they heard a large crashing noise as a large Onix came crashing through and blocked their path. He turned his head toward the trio and began firing a barrage of rocks at them. Curse, immediately sent in his Treecko who landed a strong Pursuit against the giant rock snake. Onix slammed Treecko hard against the wall of the cave, causing a heavy load rocks to fall down, closing off the entrance. Treecko kicked itself off the wall and launched for Onix and as it did, it began glowing a deep shade of blue and he landed on Onixs back. However he was no longer a Treecko he had evolved into a Grovyle now. The sharp leaves on his arms stared glowing and Grovyle launched a heavy duo of Leaf Blade attacks against Onixs head knocking the creature out in record time, jumping from it as it fell. Curse ran over to Grovyle, hugging it like a father proud of his son. Well done Grovyle! You evolved! And you learned a new attack! Im so proud of you He hugged him tightly, with a huge grin spread across his face. They continued on out of the cave. Working together to clear the blockage. When the were finally unearthed, they set off to the Gym, so take on Roark...
