POLICE BLOTTER ARREST (THEFT/CREDIT CARD THEFT/FRAUD): Mount Laurel Police arrested Theresa L. Grassie, age 26, of the 200 block of Meadow Drive, on May 16 for theft. An investigation determined that on May 14th Grassie removed cash and credit cards from an unattended purse at the YMCA on Centerton Road. She subsequently made fraudulent purchases with the stolen credit cards at a nearby store. Grassie was charged with theft, theft of credit cards, and credit card fraud. She was released after posting $8,500.00 bail. Officer M. Cresong was the arresting officer. THEFT FROM VEHICLE/CREDIT CARD FRAUD: A Medford Lakes resident reported a theft from a vehicle parked in the Future Fitness parking lot on Hovtech Boulevard. The incident occurred between 2:30 PM and 3:00 PM on May 12. Cash and credit cards were taken. Entry into the vehicle was gained by forcing open the passenger side door causing approximately $250.00 in damage. Several fraudulent transactions were also reported with the stolen credit cards. THEFT: (Rancocas Woods) An employee of the New Covenant Church on Creek Road reported a theft. A window air conditioner valued at $200.00, was taken from the church. The incident occurred sometime between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM May 17. THEFT: (Ethel Lawrence) A Moorestown resident reported a theft. The victim arrived on the 300 block of Tolerance Court to meet an unidentified male subject to purchase a pair of shoes that were advertised on-line. The victim presented $200.00 cash and a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, valued at $160.00, to pay for the shoes. The subject took the money and sunglasses and then fled the area without exchanging the shoes. The incident occurred at 4:30 PM May 19. A suspect was identified by police and investigation is ongoing. FRAUD: (Laurel Ponds) A resident of the unit block of Daylily Drive reported a fraud. The victim received an email fraudulently representing Wells Fargo Bank. The email stated the victim’s account had been compromised and requested the victim’s personal identifying information. The victim provided the requested information and later became suspicious of the email. The victim contacted Wells Fargo Bank who stated the email was fraudulent. The incident occurred at an unspecified time on May 17. Residents are reminded to never provide personal identifying information over the internet. CREDIT CARD THEFT/FRAUD: A customer of the Wegmans on Centerton Road reported the theft of a wallet from a shopping cart. The wallet contained credit cards, cash and other documents valued at over $50.00. One of the stolen credit cards was fraudulently used to make a purchase at the adjacent Target a short time afterwards. The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 PM on May 21. ARREST (IDENTITY THEFT/FALSE GOVERNMENT IDENTIFICATION): Mount Laurel Police arrested Mohebullah Mutahedy, age 29, of the 43000 block of Osage Court, Ashburn, VA, on May 21 for Identity Theft and Possession of a False Government Identification. He attempted to fraudulently purchase three iPhones from the Verizon store on Nixon Drive under a corporate account with which he had no affiliation. During subsequent investigation, Mutahedy presented a fraudulent Virginia driver’s license to police for identification purposes. Mutahedy was charged with Identity Theft and False Government Identification. He was remanded to the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $20,000.00 bail. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: (Ramblewood Farms) A resident of the 800 block of Lafayette Drive reported a criminal mischief to a State of New Jersey owned vehicle. The incident occurred between 7:00 PM, May 20, and 9:00 AM, May 21. The passenger side of the vehicle was scratched. Damage is estimated at $500.00.
