POST-DOC FELLOWSHIPS – ECONOMICS Micro-econometrics, Economics of Innovation, Network Analysis, Spatial Economics. GREDEG, UMR 7321 UNIVERSITY OF NICE SOPHIA –ANTIPOLIS AND CNRS POSITION GREDEG (Groupe de Recherche en Economie, Droit Economique et Gestion) of the University Nice Sophia Antipolis (UNS) and National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) offers a one year Post-doctoral fellowship in Economics starting no later than January, 1th 2015. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become part of the team that works on the project Liquidity, Risk and Innovative Entrepreneurship funded by UNS. This project aims at providing empirical analysis on innovation subsidies, financial constraints and firm performance based on large scale firm-level datasets. It also aims at developing theoretical analysis on the role of social networks in the dynamics of innovation. The richness of the dataset, possibly complemented by new data mining methodologies, should also allow to investigate empirically the role of networks for the successful implementation of innovation policies. Successful candidates must possess a Ph.D in economics. The ideal candidate should have excellent skills in micro-econometrics and data analysis (including the ability to manage large datasets). It should also shows competencies in network analysis applied to innovation and entrepreneurship issues. Excellent written and oral communication, computer skills are also expected. The successful candidate will take an active role in the development of the project, and in particular in fostering the scientific collaboration between GREDEG and I3S, the Computer Science Lab of UNS and CNRS on network analysis. The monthly amount of the Fellowship is of 2200 euros (net of income tax). Travel expenses to join the position will be eligible for re-funding. A research fund for participating to conferences during the 2015 year will be allocated to the successful candidate. Residence in the vicinity of GREDEG is a requirement. The call for candidates is open until October 25, 2014 the latest. Depending on their availability, selected candidates will be invited to give a research seminar at GREDEG at their earliest convenience.
