PRAISE GEMS Thursday, January 22, 2015 Kwasi Asante Annor JESUS CHRIST-THE SUPERLATIVE OF ALL SUPREMACY Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. Paul had met Epaphras in prison. Epaphras is believed to be the one who planted the church in Colosse. The report of the faith and love of the Colossian congregation so inspired Paul that he wrote this book to encourage the church to be filled with the knowledge of Gods will. However, in the course of speaking to the Church, Paul releases another revelation of Christ. This is what I describe as Christ, the Superlative of all Supremacy. Superlative is defined as that which is of highest order, quality or degree and its superior to all others. So Paul by divine revelation saw and received the mystery of the exalted Christ. In it, he concludes that Christ might have supremacy in all things. Halleluya. Beloved, this Jesus whom we serve is no mean a person. He is the epitome and apex of all supremacy. The elements of supremacy revolve around him. In fact he is everything and everything is him. So Paul is careful to note that in all things he might have supremacy. Therefore we are bold to declare that Christ is the supremacy of all life. Christ is the supremacy of all kings and kingdoms. Christ is the supremacy of all rulers, thrones, authorities, dominions and powers. Christ is the supremacy of anything that is named so at the mention of his name every knee bows and tongues confess his Lord. I dont know about you but I choose to serve One who is the superlative of all supremacy; not Obama, Hollande, Merkel or billionaires like Gates for there is no other name under heaven given amongst men except JESUS. Remember the akan proverbs....if nothingness tells you, he will give you a cloth, listen to its name. But glory be to Jesus that he has something more than we could ever wish for. So relax for the superlative of all things is your Lord.
