PRESS RELEASE PDC CAMP Three generations run for fun, better understanding of each other AMRITSAR, JANUARY 19: Arjun Dilawari, a student of class V of Spring Dale Senior School, was adjudged the Best Boy Athlete, while Sehajankat Kaur, also of class V of Spring Dale Senior School, was declared the Best Girl Athlete during the two-day Annual Spring Olympics held at Spring Dale Senior School. It was that time of the year when three generations-students, their parents and grandparents-associated with the school, bring out their sporting gear-sports shoes and track suits-out of the closet to have some fun together on the sports ground.On Sunday, the sports ground of Spring Dale Senior School came alive with three generations togging out in their sports finery to forge a deeper bond with each other through their participation in various sports events. While students participated in activities like yoga, PT exercises, relay race with baton, juice race, snake race obstacle race (wheel, drum hurdles, net), straight run and glass pyramid race, the activities for the parents included needle and thread race, three legged race, musical chairs and balancing the ball race for grand parents. A colourful Bhangra performance by the students marked the end of the two-day event. Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that students, their parents and grandparents had fun in the two-day camp as they simultaneously participated in various events that enabled them to learn lessons in team spirit and coordination. He added that such camps are regularly organized with a view to making learning an exciting proposition for them. Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director, Spring Dale Educational Society, and Mr Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Director and Managing Trustee, Spring Dale Educational Society, congratulated the winners on this occasion, she said in her address that the camp infused a spirit of discipline and coordination among the students, which are essential attributes for achieving success in life.
