PRIDE is marching in the Day of Action of Feb 4th because queer issues are student issues. You are not a-loan! More generally, undergrad tuition fees in Nova Scotia have increased 231% since 1990, while government funding has fallen from covering 60% of university costs to just 43%. Upper year programs at Kings faced across the board cuts this year to make up for a deficit. As students, we are paying more and getting less. Considering that most students face huge amounts of debt upon graduation, and 85% of Nova Scotians support reducing tuition fees, its time for change! All out Feb 4th!
