Pa. Turnpike To Hold Open House in Newburg, Cumberland County June 18 Meeting allows residents to learn more about future reconstruction and widening plans. The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has scheduled an Open House Plans Display Meeting to brief the public on the approximately $75 million reconstruction and widening of the east-west mainline (I-76) between the Blue Mountain Service Plaza and milepost 206.89 in Cumberland County. The Plans Display is scheduled for Tuesday, June 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the social room of the Newburg Hopewell Volunteer Fire Company, 121 Lovers Lane, Newburg, Pa. Residents will be able to view project plans, see locations of bridge replacements and associated detours. Information on proposed property impacts will be presented and project team members will be available to answer questions about the project and right-of-way acquisition process. The 5-mile project, which is in Hopewell and Upper Mifflin townships, involves the widening of the existing roadway from four lanes with a ten-foot median to six lanes with a 22-foot median and involves replacing three bridges carrying the Turnpike over Enola Road (SR 0997), Bore Mill Run and Mountain Road (SR 4007). The project also includes the relocation of Enola Road in the area of the turnpike crossing.
