Parama (The Ultimate Woman) is the best movie Ive ever watched in my life. This is a 1984 award-winning Bengali film directed by Aparna Sen, one of my favorite actress & director . The film Parama authentically portrays the stereotypical life of Parama whose sacrifices of individual potential and desire for the sake of family belong to the ideal traditions of the society. Nothing would have gone wrong with the smooth life of innocent Parama and her relatives unless a much younger Rahul had not started to feel for her. The movie is about a 40-year-old married woman, Paroma (Raakhi) who falls in love with Rahul (Mukul Sharma), an expatriate photo-journalist working for glossy magazines who photographs her making her look glamorous. Rahul is Paramas husbands nephews friend. Their affair, and the invasion of the glamour machine into her life, becomes a problem when some of the photographs, earlier admired by the family, are published in a journal. Paroma is rejected by her husband and has a mental breakdown. At the end, a doctor suggests prescribing psychiatric treatment and when Paroma adamantly refuses any sense of guilt, her young daughter comes and gives her mother moral support. This movie is available on youtube in 13 parts. If language is not a barrier for you and you have the potential to watch art movies, this is a must watch movie. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Warning:- Only recommended for open brains
