Parents at Campbell Primary School. Please be advised that Isabel will NOT be participating in the SCSSA Inter school Athletics Carnival on the 3rd and 5th of November. Our family and Isabel has experienced numerous bullying situations by parents and students of the school over her winning the champion girl both this year and last. Parents on both occasions been openly commenting negatively on her winning at the event without disregard to whom could hear them and Isabel being made aware of their comments. It has also been brought to our attention that various parents have contacted the school to complain about her winning which we find horrendous. We are shocked, horrified, extremely embarrassed and upset by this whole situation. We see no benefit in Isabel attending the carnival and feel if she does attend that she will be placing unnecessary pressure on herself to perform well to justify to these parents that she deserved to be champion girl. If she does not perform well then again she loses as they will feel that it backs up their claims, basically we are in a no win situation. We just do not want to have this serve as a platform for parents at the school to comment further on the subject. We would like to make it clear that we have a strong stance on bullying and have already had several meeting with the school on bullying issues, made by parents, students and one particular student of the school over the last three years. We have made the decision to remove Isabel from Campbell at the end of the year. The school has been been advised. Grant and Michelle.
