Of all of those mistakes mentioned above, there are 3 incredible common ones that we see parents of those with Asperger’s make, that, unless fixed, can DRASTICALLY reduce the chances of someone with AS to have a happy and fulfilling life. They are: Enabling their kid, instead of letting the kid learn from their mistakes Belief of ability - Believing that their Aspergers child is incompetent and can’t be successful in life and Focusing on the wrong actions. See, most people that work with those with Asperger’s have a “top down” approach, working on social skills and daily life functioning first.
