Paul gave advice to young Timothy nearly 2000 years ago. I can - TopicsExpress

Paul gave advice to young Timothy nearly 2000 years ago. I can remember my Mom and I doing dishes over 50 years ago and hearing these same words. Last night I read them in a book and thought how appropriate they are right now! That is what it means when the Bible says its words are living - they fit whenever they are read as if written moments before by someone who knows our specific needs. It isnt a dusty old book which has lost its value...it has been a best seller consistently since its availability to the world, it is the hope we have when that world becomes the enemy. It is the sword we wield when the enemy wants to battle. It is what we are challenged to pick up and become proficient at because we WILL have to battle eventually. Yesterday, I was asked to pray for so many people, I have done that, I was told by an older person that she never knew about Gods words - ever! She is high priority to me for sure!! I am sure most people on facebook dont want sermons, but Ive been challenged personally almost a dozen times this week to lift someone in prayer, so I will trust God to give me wisdom to share my heart with the few of you who do want to know more. The scripture I mentioned is 2Timothy 3:1-5 (from the Message translation) Dont be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending slanderers, impulsive, wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. Theyll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes theyre animals. Stay clear of these people. Wow! Maybe now you see why its so critical we pray, not too many are left off the list - including me! Today, pick up a Bible, open it and see what words speak to your heart. Have a wonderful Friday! 😊
