Paula Priesse November 9th – 5 million already cancelled and 50 million now in poverty. But on ESPN this week Kevin Blackistone was more concerned with the National Anthem being played before games. Blackistone: “You are conflating a war anthem with a simple game. And when you have military flyovers and all the other military symbolism that goes on in sports, I think you’ve got a problem.” Sports used to be fun. Before Bob Costas lectured us on guns or chimed in on the “Redskins.” Before stories of an NBA player coming out of the closet or an NFL player bullying a teammate received weeks of coverage. Surprised libs haven’t banned pro sports altogether, no quotas, no affirmative action but a true meritocracy. So what if the NBA is 80% black or the NHL is 99% white, if you’re good enough you play. Too bad this same philosophy isn’t applied everywhere else. As for you Mr. Blackistone, with Veterans Day Monday remember it’s the U.S. Military that gave you the freedom to spew your idiocy. Until you figure this out shut your trap and just give us the darn scores! P
