People ask alot, Do I apply beard oil onto wet, damp, or dry hair? Im gonna answer that really quick. Ill be doing a longer post going into more specifics on our blog, but for now, lets keep it short. Different oils react differently to moisture, sure. Some are more readily absorbed in wet hair, some dry. A good beard oil blend is a combination of several different oils that emulsify together the create the blend. Its not like a parfait, its a smoothie. So when giving advice of this nature, you must take the blend into account, and not the individual oils used. By its very nature, hair absorbs EVERYTHING. Even dry. Note, when you dont wash your hair for a few days it becomes oily. Its absorbing natural body oils from your scalp (sebum) that is produced to keep your hair moisturized. A perfect PH balance will ensure perfect production of sebum, and really nicely moisturized hair. But who has that? We live in a rough world. Dust, dirt, products, chemicals, etc throw off that natural balance and thus w often wind up with dry, brittle hair. Oil is the answer. Hair has a fine aqueous layer that is activated by moisture. The pores in each hair begin to absorb moisture when the hair is wet. Its that simple. Beard oil can be used on dry hair, but to REALLY see the benefits, put it into damp hair. Regardless what is in the blend, MOST oils absorb better into wet hair. Same with butters. Oils will also create a barrier, sealing moisture IN TO your beard. If you notice that your beard soaks up oil like its been stranded in the desert for months, try getting it a little wet first. Try this: Take a shower. Take your beard oil into the shower. Wash beard with your choice of natural soap. Oil. Rinse and towel dry. Feel the AMAZING softness, then throw in a little more oil to seal it all in. But either way, just throw a little water into the mane before oiling and youll see an INSANE difference than when applied dry. Beard on, brothers, and BEARD STRONG!
