People in the South need to know this: Maharshi Agstya, the father - TopicsExpress

People in the South need to know this: Maharshi Agstya, the father of Tamil Literature who compiled the first Tamil Grammar called Agathiam was one of the greatest Rishis (seers) of the Rig Veda. Not only he, but also his wife Lopamudra, his sister and one of his students are mentioned as seers of various Mantras in the Rig Veda. It is clear from some of Shankaracharyas statements that no other Vedic Rishi enjoyed the level of respect as was enjoyed by Maharshi Agastya. Even Lord Rama visits Maharshi Agastya to pay his respect during his journey in the South. Maharshi Agastyas wife Lopamudra is also a great master in the Shri Vidya tradition, one of the most esoteric Agama traditions in India which was practiced even by great saints like Shankaracharya. Shankaracharya himself, one of the greatest philosophers and commentators of the Vedic traditions, fondly used to call himself Dravida-shishu (the child of Dravida). Why have we then allowed ourselves to get divided on the basis of such an ill-informed hypothesis known as the Aryan Invasion Theory? Even Sir Mortimer Wheeler (1890-1976), a flamboyant proponent of the Aryan invasion theory and the Director-General of the Archaeological Survey of India, clearly notes the presence of horses in the Indus Civilization: On the other hand, the bones of a horse occur at a high level at Mohenjodaro, and from the earliest (doubtless pre-Harappan) layer at Rana Ghundai in northern Baluchistan both horse and ass are recorded. It is likely enough that camel, horse and ass were in fact all a familiar feature of the Indus caravans. (The Indus Civilization; page 82, published in 1953) Yet, we are still taught today in history books in India that there were no horses in the Indus Civilization and, because the Rig Veda mentions them so frequently, the Rig Vedic Aryan people must have invaded India on the back of their horses. What a bunch of lies! How could one hypothesis out of so many which were proposed, and that too a poor and ill-informed one which actually raises more questions than it claims to answer, become the ultimate truth for historians in India which has created this political divide of North India and the Dravidian south. The Vedic Rishis dreamed of a United India, which is so evident in their final message: Common be your intention. Common be the wishes of your hearts. Common be your thoughts, so that there may be complete union among you. - संगच्छध्वं संवदध्वं सं वो मनांसि जानताम्। समानमस्तु वो मनो यथा वः सु सहासति॥ऋ० १०.१९१.४॥ How can we allow it to be otherwise?
