Perhaps the most revealing statistic is the out of wedlock birth rate in the black community that has risen from 7% to 73% since the inception of the War on Poverty 50 years ago under President Johnson, which is a primary indicator of Fatherlessness. It is the breakdown of the family and it is in the context of families that we learn respect and disipline. This is not exclusive to the black community, but it is there that it has taken its greatest toll. It is, at its core a moral problem and government has little capacity to address the symptoms, As a Nation, we have turned our back on God and now we reap the consequences!
