Persian Empire Ancient Shushtar Hydraulic System inscribed as a masterpiece of creative genius is a homogeneous hydraulic system with numerous functions; This property has an ensemble of remarkable sites including a series of tunnels for water transport, the Salâsel Castel - which is the operation centre of the entire hydraulic system, the tower where the water level is measured, multiple damns, bridges, basins and mills; Shushtar Hydraulic System by diverting the river flowing down the mountains using large-scale structures and canals, has made possible multiple uses for the water across a vast territory including : urban water supply, agricultural irrigation, fish farming, mills, transport, and defense system.
