Pete Frame once said of Tom Rush that he should be the only one to cover Joni Mitchell songs, my friend Hank Beukema takes some of the most evocative songs of our generation and gives his soul to them. I waxed lyrical to Hank this morning and said you have nailed this one my friend listening here on a morning still wet with the nights rain it pulls me back to our first meeting in that bar in Nyack when you strolled in and shook my hand those times are etched deep in here for me being on the Hudson with you was like finding a Buddhist poem on a Tibetan hillside amongst the windswept flowers your worms rustle like the leaves on some temple terrace up there and always bring me home.
