(Please Watch) I may live in this time when the perceived social media adds instead of subtracts, but the truth is in the pudding if you grew up like me; rarely inside the house (in fact, hated being there); without a cell phone or a computer; ate dinner with the family; actually knew the neighbours and knocked on their doors; and walked miles to a friends house and to and from school. It is too late for change now, I believe, but not for every individual. We can learn to look up from florescent screens and into ambient-lit windows; walk into the outdoors and leave the electronics indoors; say hello to strangers and invite over the neighbors.
