Please help us say goodbye to Terri Reda, a wonderful person and an important participant in our Madison, WI Taekwon-Do community: MADISON - The life of Terri Jean (Frank) Reda came to an end on November 16, 2013 after three and a half years of chemotherapy treatment and a bone marrow transplant for Multiple Myeloma. She considered herself extremely fortunate to live so long and to be encircled by those she so loved after her diagnosis. Born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison on July 24, 1952, to Gordon and Rita Frank, she attended Sherman School, St. Bernard’s Elementary School, and graduated from East High School in 1970. She also received her Associates degree in a Business Administration field at Madison Area Technical College followed later by successful admission to the Executive Business Management Administration at UW-Madison which, due to special circumstances, she did not pursue. Terri’s 41 year tenure with the UW System Administration’s Office of Architecture and Engineering/Capital Budget and Facilities Planning began in 1972 as a secretary and ended as an Environmental Affairs Officer and Senior Capital Planning Specialist when her health forced her into retirement. Throughout her career she received numerous prestigious awards including the President’s Special Award for Excellence in 2012. Terri was united in marriage to Richard J. Reda on December 27, 1980 in Madison. Terri was an avid volunteer for a multitude of organizations including local schools, Second Harvest, the Alzheimer and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin, and most notably MSCR. She received the MSCR Volunteer of the Year Award in 2001 and was featured in a newspaper story of noteworthy Madisonians. Terri was the type of person that everyone would feel blessed to have known. She lived a full and busy life and spent her boundless energy always helping others to enjoy a fulfilling life. She was driven to ensure that holidays, special occasions, and family celebrations were filled with fun and joy for everyone. When others were considering possibilities for some special gathering, Terri already had a plan and had already made most of the arrangements. She made it easy for family to enjoy each other and received the highest satisfaction when she made things happy and better for others. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 33 years; children, Briana, Amanda (Anthony) Goglio, Ryan, Brandon, Cristine (Doug) Reid, and Keith; grandchildren, Andrew, Kaitlyn, Aidan, and Daniel; mother, Rita Frank; siblings, Dennis (Nancy) Frank, David (Kathy) Frank, Marilyn (Ruben) Rosas, Ann (Mark) Osowski, and Scott (Shari) Frank. She is further survived by her many family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013, with Monsignor Charles Schluter presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013 and again at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Burial at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Cemetery. A special thank you to the staff at Agrace Hospice and UW Carbone Cancer Clinic, especially Dr. Mark Juckett and Dawn Reininger, for the exceptional care over the past few years. “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, As long as I’m living, my Mommy you’ll be.”
