Police are appealing for public assistance following a robbery in Queanbeyan this afternoon. About 12.30pm (Monday 17 November 2014), a 24-year-old man was walking east along Monaro Street when he was approached by three women. One of the women allegedly restrained the man, while another assaulted him and took his wallet. The trio fled the location a short time later. The man was not injured during the incident. He recovered his wallet a short distance away, although an amount of cash had been taken. Officers attached to Monaro Local Area Command were later contacted and launched an investigation. They are continuing their inquiries and would now like to speak to three women who may be able to assist in the investigation. The first woman is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 30 years of age and of a large build. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt. The second woman is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 30 years of age and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and pyjama pants. The third woman has only been described as being of Caucasian appearance and about 30 years of age. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the women, or has any information that could assist investigators, is urged to come forward.
