Police now thinks KB is probably superhuman Dr. (Rtrd. Col.) Kiiza Besigye has dazed Police in Western Uganda beyond thinking. Both Government and the public were abundantly aware of the plans of the pro-clean elections activists and politicians to be in Kabale and Kasese this weekend. Police was then given express instructions to make sure Dr. Besigye does not step anywhere near those two places. To effect this order, police designed to follow KB minute-to-minute wherever he stepped. The good doctor on the other hand had also designed it to make it to Kabale with resolute intentions. The cat-and-mouse game began. Police mounted a roadblock at a place called Kabalaga, a most strategically located junction about, 10 kilometers to Kabale town. They knew with certainty that KB must pass there to reach Kabale. They knew that if he beat surveillance in all other places to make it to the green land of the Kiga, they would eventually stop him there. But as usual, KB had other plans. As he reached Mbarara, police was still at his bumper, toe-to-toe. Dr. connected Ntungamo and police was still at him on tight radder. But just as they were exiting Ntungamo at a place called Rubare to head for the dead point (the roadblock) at Kabalaga, KB mysteriously disappeared. Hullo..., yes the man was not anywhere to be seen by the surveillance police. Sporadic intelligence-gathering phone calls then congested the networks. All corners in Insingiro, Ntungamo and Kabale were put on high alert. This was now around 4:00pm. The roadblock in Kabalaga was beyond alert. Not only were they coked, even cameras were on trigger. Wait; it was 6:30pm and police was then aware that KB was actually in Kabale town. Yes, KB actually entered Kabale town at 6:45pm but police got wind that he had already beaten all their traps into Kabale town by 6:30pm. As I type this line at 11:28am today (Friday), police is armed with all sorts of information gathering gears, sniffing all corners in Kabale town in an attempt to hunt down the Col. but KB is sure he is going to attend a rally in Kabale stadium this afternoon. Lets wait.
