Political Activism: (Illinois SJR 42) October 27, 2014 at 9:01pm Is Congress Really Dead? The US Senate recently had the chance to vote on a 28th Amendment to the US Constitution that would overturn Citizens United and finally rollback the Supreme Court’s electoral anarchy. Most Americans want this amendment, so what did Congress do? They voted it down. The US Senate filibustered the vote. Congress killed the amendment. This is the most useless Congress weve ever had as a country. Theyve passed less laws than the “Do-Nothing Congress” of the 1940’s; they literally do less than nothing. That’s why this Congress is dead to me. We’re done waiting on Congress to act. At Wolf PAC, we’re taking the fight to the states. Asking Congress to fix Congress is like asking cancer to cure cancer. The US Congress is bought and sold by billionaires and outside interests, but the good news is that our state legislators still listen. We have found the cure to the cancer of corruption that is consuming the nation’s capital - it’s in the hands of the state legislators serving in your local state capital. Weve already passed resolutions in two states to propose an amendment through a convention of the states, and more resolutions will be introduced in 2015. Most amendments throughout our history started with the states calling for a convention and the Congress eventually proposing it. The Bill of Rights got proposed by Congress when New York and Virginia called for a convention for those amendments. We wouldnt have the 17th Amendment if the states didnt get extremely close to calling for a convention. The historical record is clear: if you need an amendment to the US Constitution, then you call for a convention through the states. We need a 28th Amendment to restore free and fair elections in America, with or without this useless Congress. But first, we need you to step up to the plate and take action by becoming a member today. To Become A Member of Wolf Pack: wolf-pac/petition
