Political parties and the downfall of a nation. George Washington - TopicsExpress

Political parties and the downfall of a nation. George Washington had one famous quote in his farewell address that reads "However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion." This is happening today, we are all Americans and we all have opinions. Republicans and Democrats have different opinions and instead of finding a medium between their respective opinions, they would rather show hate towards the other side for the difference, this is a primitive style of thinking that will cause the downfall of our nation.
