Poor customer service story time ladies and gents. Are you sitting comfortably? In mid April I dropped a canon 70-300 lens off with a shop to be repaired - they had previously repaired it, but it had not worked, and the image stabilisation was still doing the opposite of what it should. Since then I have visited the shop between 4 and 6 times, and called on many occasions, each time to be convinced by such things as waiting for parts, waiting for a different part etc. Two weeks ago I went in to be told that its finally repaired, and that it just needed cleaning, and I could pick it up the following week. I went in to do so last weekend, and was told it was not yet cleaned, but that it would be cleaned and dropped off at my house one evening this week. I called yesterday when nothing had been delivered, and was told that it would definitely be with me this week, and most likely Friday (today). I called today (Friday) to ask what time, and to absolutely confirm it would be here, because otherwise I would need to borrow a lens to go on photography trip tomorrow. I was told 8pm latest, and yet here I sit at 21:30, with no lens for my trip, throughly annoyed. When I get back, I will go and demand the lens in whatever condition, as well as the return of my money for the original repair. I will then take it somewhere else in Norfolk for repair, if anyone can recommend, or otherwise ebay it for parts. If anyone wants to know the name of the shop, I wont publish it on a public group, but you can send me a message and I will let you know. PS: Posted with agreement from Paul - please dont start guessing who Im talking about in the comments, or post the names of other bad shops in posts.
