Position: Commercial Truck Driving Adjunct Instructor Location: Carroll & LaGrange Campuses Department: Community Education Reports to: Director of Economic Development Nature of Duties: Under general supervision, the instructor will be responsible for providing guidance and instruction necessary to prepare students with the technical competencies essential as a Commercial Truck Driver. Instructor will perform all aspects of instruction for the Commercial Truck Refresher program and for and for 3rd party Endorsement testing for truck driving and passenger bus. Duties include: lecture, instructional activities, maintaining all required documentation, ensures safety requirements and other duties as defined by The Technical College System of Georgia. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports; ensures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area. This instructor will teach courses for non-credit programing while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field. This instructor provides instruction in the theory and practical applications of Commercial Truck Driving Refresher Training in class, on the driving range, and over the road training; establishes, measures, and evaluates program or student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success. Requires strong computer skills, communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population. Minimum Qualifications: • Certificate in Commercial Truck Driving • Current CDL License, Class A with AL & TN endorsements • Clean MVR for past 7 years • 3 of last 7 years over the road experience • 3rd Party Examiner/Tester qualified Preferred Qualifications: • Directly related teaching experience • Teaching experience in postsecondary education (classroom and yard procedures). • Nationally recognized certification\Licensure in Commercial Truck Driving • Extensive direct field experience Salary/Benefits: Based on Qualifications; No benefits Method of Application: Interested candidates should email their current resume to [email protected] to the attention of Anita Williams.
