Possession of marijuana charge? Marijuana found in your vehicle? Here is a quick look at potential sentences for various amounts of marijuana. Class A Misdemeanor- possession of more than 10 grams, but less than 30 grams of marijuana; punishable by up to 364 days in jail, and/or $2,500 in fines/costs. Class B Misdemeanor- possession of more than 2.5 grams but not more than 10 grams, punishable by up to 6 months in jail, and/or $1,500 in fines/costs. Class C Misdemeanor- possession of not more than 2.5 grams of marijuana; punishable by up to 30 days in jail, and/or $1,500 in fines/costs.
