Post Doc Research Associate - Biological Modeling Job Description Pacific NW National Laboratory -Marine Sciences Laboratory has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow to conduct innovative research in computational modeling of fish reproduction. This project is part of a larger study developing high throughput cellular assays to assess toxicant effects on the fish pituitary, ovary and liver. The goal is to utilize the adverse outcome pathway concept to demonstrate the feasibility of integrating in vitro assays with computational modeling as a surrogate for fish life-cycle testing. The in vitro testing is using a diverse set of reproductive and non-reproductive toxicants. The postdoctoral fellow will use an existing biologically based pharmacodynamic model of the rainbow trout reproductive system to develop in vitro-in vivo extrapolation methods for translating in vitro results to predictions of whole animal effects. In addition, the fellow will use toxicokinetic models such as physiologically-based pharmacokinetic models, to estimate the environmental exposures needed to achieve predicted target tissue thresholds for effect. The fellow will also be involved with refining model parameterization and expanding model structure. Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or completed degree requirements by start date) in biological modeling, mathematics, toxicokinetics or related field of study. Experience in dynamic modeling of biological systems, and/or multi-scale modeling and modeling software such as MATLAB is desired. https://erecruit.pnnl.gov/psp/hrext/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/c/HRS_HRAM.HRS_CE.GBL?Page=HRS_CE_JOB_DTL&Action=A&JobOpeningId=302975&SiteId=1&PostingSeq=1#302975
