Posture-theres often way too much emphasis on it. I know, I have over emphasised it with many clients. When I moved from being a PT into rehab about 7 years ago. I banged on about posture and many other people do. Its true that we should be considering our posture, especially if your job involves being seated. You should also consider joint centration when considering optimal lifting positions and training. However there is much that you shouldnt consider controlling, especially during gait-walking/running. I often see people who have been told to squeeze their glutes together, draw their belly in or pick up their chest when running. A recipe for compensation and sub optimal function. Train function (motor control is foremost) and often posture falls back into where it should be. Good posture? Good function is a better goal.
