Power Bar has a new product called Performance Energy Wafer bars. I tried one this weekend, and it tasted pretty good, but it is far from nutritious. It should be called a cookie or candy bar! Heres why: One cookie has 180 calories made up from 3 gms of protein, 31 gms of carbs and 4 grams of fat. That means you will get 12 calories from protein and 35 calories from fat. Next lets look at the carbs. Powerbar states it uses a Dual-Source Energy Blend (Sugar, Fructose, Dextrose, Wheat Glucose Syrup, Maltodextrin, Wheat Flour) Of the 124 calories from carbs, 56 calories (14 gms) come from sugar. The first ingredient listed is sugar followed by fructose. This is not a nutrition bar. It is a glorified candy bar. This bar is not part of a balanced diet.
