Praise God from Whom all blessings flow! I am truly blessed! I was raised in a Christian home with parents who loved God, each other, family and friends. My heart is breaking. My sweet Daddy went home to be with Jesus yesterday. Im sure his parents, siblings, nephew and most especially his precious son, Ricky, were standing on the other side of the river when God opened His arms and welcomed him home. Well done, My good and faithful servant. Youve fought the fight, youve run the race, now your home. Rest in Gods arms, Daddy! You deserve your reward. My Daddy has fought so hard these past 2 months. We came very close to losing him earlier, but he put up a fight. He spent 41 of 43 days in Sept. & Oct. in the hospital. He overcame a lot of sickness and did everything he was asked to do to get his body ready for this surgery. It was supposed to be ok. I dont know why God chose to take him home, but He did, and my heart hurts. He and Momma celebrated 57 years of marriage in September. He had bought her a card and put it under the car seat. He asked me to bring it to her while he was in the hospital. He was sad he hadnt gotten a chance to sign it, but I know he picked it out with love and it was perfect. My childhood was filled with family memories; awesome vacations, Sundays were always family time (visiting the grandparents, boating, roller skating, horseback riding, bowling, and motorcycle, bicycle & airplane rides)!! Ill never forget him trying to hanging on to this stupid pony as it took off running with me in the saddle. Lots of Sundays wed get up & Daddy would say, lets go to Virgils (his twin brother who lived in Granite City) today. Wed head to McKinnon, hop on the plane and off wed go. Wed fly over their house and the whole family would be waving at us in the yard; then, Uncle Virgil would come to the airport to pick us up. Wed spend the day enjoying family and fly back home. He loved to thrill all the kids (nieces & nephews, too) by taking the nose of the plane up in the air; then, diving back down while us kids were floating on the ceiling. Precious memories! Oh my goodness I cant forget, BIG snows and the main road in Tenn. Ridge was covered. Do we send the kids out to play? Nope. Everybody bundled up, called the rest of the family, and lets hook the sleds up to the car and pull the kids down the street!! My Daddy was a kind and gentle man. He never had a bad thing to say about anybody. He was loved by everyone who knew him. It wasnt unusual for him to get a call at night, or on Sunday, from someone who had a sick child or needed something to fix for school lunch tomorrow, asking if hed let them in the store to get what they needed. He never refused. It didnt matter the time or need, hed meet you there to get it. Momma & Daddy have never recovered from Rickys death, but they had each other to cling to. Now, please pray that with Gods help, Kathy & I can carry her through. Shes a strong lady, but he was the love of her life and now hes gone. Thank you all for your prayers these last 2 months. Please continue to ask God to hold us. We feel His presence & your love for us.
