Praise: The Way Through (II) As we celebrate thanksgiving and take advantage of black Friday and cyber Monday shopping, let’s remember the words of the wisest man, King Solomon: “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he”(Proverb 23:7) You see, your thought is the drivers of your life, meaning your life always will go in the direction of your dominant thought. Your most dominant thoughts will always materialize. They will always become reality in your life. This is why you have to always scrutinize your thought Praise and thanks giving shift your focus from the problems to the promises of God. When you praise God, you shift your thinking to his promises and away from the problem. Romans 4:19-21…”And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarahs womb:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. To consider means to think about carefully or focus on. Abraham considered not his impotency or wife`s bareness. He did not focus on his problem. The thought of his impotency or his wife bareness did not dominate him, rather He shifted his thinking away from the problem to what was promised and to God who made the promise. Consequently, ...he grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God ( Romans 4:2 Amplified). You see, focusing on your problem will cause you murmur and complain, which leads to unbelief. Scripture says unbelief as evil,it will trip you up and throw you off course, diverting you from the living God and short-circuiting God`s power in your life. You see, the children of Israel murmured and complained about their circumstances, thus, were not allowed to enter the Promised Land and God’s promised rest because of unbelief/faithlessness (Hebrews 3:19) But focusing on the promises will cause you to break forth in praise and thanksgiving; It will cause faith to arise in your heart and we know that without faith it impossible to please God. So, like Abraham you must always focus on the promises and not on the problems. Praise will empower you faith and cause the promises to become your reality.
