Prayer. According to Philippians 4:6 the antidote for worry is prayer. So what does it mean if you pray and still worry? The issue is not with Gods truth but our prayers. Most of the time we think of prayer as a way of getting something. Rather selfish, isnt it! If the only time your friend calls is to ask you for something, youd consider that person to be, well, somewhat selfish. When our prayers are characterized by telling God what we want Him to do, in faith of course, then we really have a trust issue as well as a control issue. Worry is rooted in a lack of trust and in an intense desire to control. True prayer is submitting to God and trusting Him to do what will bring Glory to His name. Prayer is the primary way we bare our heart in order for God to change it. Prayer is simply communicating with God in order to hear His heart and see ours.
