President Obama did promise that you can keep your insurance plan. Today, much is being made of the fact that people are getting letters from their insurance companies stating that they will no longer be providing the insurance due to Obamacare. The truth is, that as of January 1, 2013, all new insurance policies must include basic services such as ambulatory care, emergency services, lab work, rehab, prescriptions. Some insurers do not want to provide these services. They would rather go out of business than to provide them. Why? Cause the plans they offer are trash. They make their plans sound good, get you to send them hundreds of dollars each month, then, when you really need medical coverage, you find it doesnt come close to providing what you may imagined or hoped it would cover. The Affordable Care Act (ACA, ie Obamacare) raised the standards for health insurance companies and works to provide quality coverage to Americans at a fair price, thus forcing con artists out of the industry. The same people who are getting these notices can go into the exchanges, find a policy that provides coverage that meet the standards set, a policy that is much better than what they had previously, at a lower cost then they were paying.
