Professional Bio: Kay Becker DeMartini was born in South Dakota. At an early age she excelled in Jiffy Cake bakery and hall closet reorganization. With five other siblings, she struggled for home domination. Proficient in the skills of silent treatment and door slamming, her world blossomed. Meanwhile the predominately male family grew increasingly frustrated with living in a state void of any professional sports team. Succumbing to Minnesota-Envy, they moved. Kay rediscovered herself at Har Mar Mall in Roseville; and though school provided a wonderful social outlet, it frequently conflicted with her busy personal schedule. Kay has performed comedy, improv and storytelling across the country; produces a monthly series in Oakland, Ca called ‘BustingOut Storytelling’; has been on NPR; and believes there is nothing more powerful than a good story told well.
