Protecting the privacy of my friend so his name is not here but I - TopicsExpress

Protecting the privacy of my friend so his name is not here but I really had to copy and paste: Let me tell you a story. A true story.During the Nigerian civil war of 1967-1970,in times of the ocassional cease fight, the soldiers from opposing sides exchanges cigarettes and provisions, the Nigerian side more than the Biafran side. What does that tell us? It tells us that intrinsically we are one and that we,the common folk ,get caught up in the policies of misplaced ideas. There are huge huge benefits from the diversity of the Nigerian landscape and its people.Admittedly forging a true union, which we have not experienced yet,is a more formidable task, than the destruction of it.Needless to say our present crop of politicians are quite intellectually inert and lack the nous to work on this goal. They rather lean on the fence of division and highlight the differences in such horrendous and alarming light to suit their own pocket and nefarious agenda. It is imperative that the agenda be set to move forward with a view to creating true nationhood where the diversity is highlighted for celebration not division. Yes it is an uphill struggle but one worth taking on for the future of generation yet unborn. To extend a hand of friendship costs less and rewards more.It can be done and the fault lines worked on like the cracks on the wall.Underpinning is always cheaper than knockdown and rebuild. My little knowledge of quantity surveying tells me that much.Goodnight folks.
