Psalm 63:1, O God, Thou art my God; I shall seek Thee earnestly; - TopicsExpress

Psalm 63:1, O God, Thou art my God; I shall seek Thee earnestly; my soul thirsts for Thee, my flesh yearns for Thee, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. In his book The Pursuit of God, author A. W. Tozer writes, “To have found Him and still to pursue Him is the soul’s paradox of love, scorned indeed by the too easily satisfied religionist, but justified in the happy experience by the children of the burning heart.” David wrote in Psalm 42:1-2a, As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for Thee, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God... When I first met and began to date my wife, Jeanette, I pursued her. Hard. But over time, my pursuit began to be less and less passionate. Sometimes that happens in our pursuit of God. I have been following after Him for over 30 years now. Some days, more passionately than others. God, forgive me for not pursuing You with more passion, more determination, more reckless abandon. Paul writes in Philippians 3:10, ...that I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
