Publikation korrigieren: Spiritual Acupuncture Nepalhakras in Indian medicine are energy centers which can be compared with the Chinese organs. Chakra means wheel in sanskrit. They are spaces of energy with an one or two openings. There are seven major chakras in the body from the perineum in the lower pelvic area up to the top of the head. These seven chakras are forming five spaces, the pelvic space, the abdomen, the chest, the throat and the cranium. Chakras help us to make deeper connections, and specific entry into a deeper level of energy and consciousness. The play an important role in Indian medicine and also in yoga. Chakras are spaces of consciousness, spaces in which consciousness is focused during meditation. Chakras are centers of energy Chakras are spaces with strong charge of life force Chakras are openings in the energy field which are receiving and sending energies out Chakras are centers of consciousness, centers of awareness Chakras have specific qualities of consciousness Chakra acupuncture utilizes chakra points besides the usual points of Chinese medicine. When needling chakra points, the chakras are activated, so the energy flow is strengthened, which is called opening the chakras. This way the patients are starting to sense the chakras and feel them in the body. For example, when the consciousness moves to the space of the heart in the center of the chest, we have the feeling of harmony, peace, joy, humor and compassion in the space of the chest. People get heartful and loving and radiate these feelings out into the world. They have an open and warm heart. The Practical Application of Spiritual Acupuncture 1. Deep conscious breathing After insertion of the acupuncture needles with usual technique, the awareness goes to the breath. We are breathing in life force. The patient is watching the breath, at the same time as body sensations and emotions which are arising. First the patient is watching the inspiration. The inhaling deeply is the first stepp, the first phase of watching the breath. The therapist is saying, „Breathe deeper, breathe deep into the center of the chest“. Or „Deep breath is activating and strengthening your life force and giving you more energy.“ Or „Breathing is making you feel more alive.“ The word inspiring means breathing in, which shows the connection between breathing and creativity and spirituality. We speak about being inspired and alive, and soulful. The conscious breathing is an important bridge between the soul and the physical body and connects the spirit and the body. After five to ten minutes of focus on deep inspiration, the patient is starting to watch the phase of expiration. Here the focus goes to slow and prolonged expiration, the breathing more and relaxation during expiration. The therapist sazs to the patient, Slowlz and deeplz expire or breathe out. Longer expiration, take longer time to exhale. And let your tension go with the exhaling. And each breath is making you more relaxed.ä So the focused, prolonged expiration is relaxing the body more and more and getting tense energies out of the body, promoting the flow of qi. Deep inspiration is strengthening the energies long exhaling is promoting the relaxation of the body. Health is characteriyed through free flow and free pulsing of breathing and life force in the organs, channels, and energy centers of the body. Focusing the awareness to deep breathing during acupuncture sessions is one of the modalities which enhances the healing effects of acupuncture. 2. Focusing of the Consciousness Inside Focusing the consciousness into the bodz is the second step. The therapist asks the patient to close his ezes and feel inside the bodz, focus his awareness to bodz sensations, and emotions. At the same time, the consciousness stazs with the breathing and watching the bodz. Also the therapist is simultaneouslz focusing his own consciousness inside, to inner spaces and asks the patient go even deeper into the bodz. Also the patients are feeling relaxed, relaxation, and small tingling sensations and a feeling of gentle flow. 3. Qi Gong During Acupuncture Session The integration of Chi Gung during acupuncture sessions is done through holding the hands in an arc in front of the bodz, in a chi gung position. So the patient first holds the hands in front of the chest, and later in front of the bellz or the pelvic area. This helps the patient focus his awareness more to chakra areas. The patient is finding the right width-wideness-expansiveness of himself. This helps the patient to examine and gather and hold his awareness into these spaces. Holding the hands, gathering the focus in these spaces, empowers the patient to feel the qualities like the strengthening of the inhalation, relaxation during exhaling, warmth and expansion of the heart space. So the life force is sensed more consciouslz. Also the blockages and limitations are released during session. So chi gung is preventative method of breathing and meditation, and a soft and slow exercise of chi. The patient is guiding the life force-energz with breathing and slow movements of the hand to bring consiousness to the bodz. So blockages are released more easilz and flow of energz is promoted. The feeling of deep relaxation is felt bz the patient, so the goal is harmonz and activation of the life force. Chi gung is a method of cultivating life force. 4. Chakra Acupuncture In the beginning of the therapy or the therepeutic process we start with two or three chakras. For example with the crown, the heart and the base. Crown Chakra for Expansion The needling of the point Baihui Du Mai 20 is opening the inner spaces of the bodz for direct soul influence. Influence of the soul. These points which are activating the crown chakra are having an enlightening effect. The hands are holding on the side of the crown space like a funnel. So the light is starting to flow more. The body is opening to the soul, to the inner light of the consciousness. When the patient is feeling a lightening up, the therapist moves to the next chakra, for example to the heart space. Here already chakra points of the heart are needled. The heart chakra is the centerö three chakras are above and three are below it. The heart chakra is enhancing harmony of the energies and in the body. Heart Chakra for the Center The needling of the point run 17 and the four surrounding points bring additional focus to the chest and activate the heart chakra. The patient hold their hands in a circle in front of their chest. The patient is asked to breathe into the center of the chest and to have their awareness focused on this area. He starts to feel expanded, warmer and more joyful, even developing humor during the session. Kidney for Grounding The energy of the kidney in the pelvic space is activated in the next step by needling the points ki.3 or the other points like sp. 6, especially with the points of Michael Smith are calming and grounding the kidney energy. The heart and lung point on the ears are harmonizing the heart and kidney connection. So in two or three sessions a strong connection between the heart and the pelvis is developing. The strengthening of the kidney activates the energy of the base and enhances the grounding. In the second part of the acupuncture session, the patients can sit up. In the sitting position on the bed, the flow of light and life force from the crown to the heart and base is activating. 5. Soul Body Connection In spiritual acupuncture the awareness is directed on the flow of energy on the light level. The lightning up effect of body soul relation is felt already to the needling of the single point Baihui. But with the help of chakra acupuncture, the crown is more activated, the flow of light and energy into the heart chakra and into the body is felt much more by the patient. So a strong connection between soul and body is established. The inner light of consciousness flows from the soul, the eighth chakra located above the crown chakra is flowing strongly, especially to the heart. Clinical Application Spiritual acupuncture is especially useful in severe illnesses like multiple sclerosis, cancer, and also is very helpful in disturbances of fertility and in chronic depression. Most of these diseases according to Chinese diagnosis, we find a yin deficiency pattern where the substance of the body is depleted and the structural forces of the kidnez are reduced. Here spiritual acupuncture in combination with Reishi or anthroposophic medicine is helpful. Spiritual acupuncture is useful to patients who are sensitive and have a good ability for introspection, but not so effective for patients who are extroverted and driven by compulsive thoughts.
