Quick update from home before I head into TV land. I was sweating bullets last night about forecast. Worried that I missed something by not jumping on the big snow band wagon. Whew...Most areas saw some sleet, freezing rain or just rain. Snow accumulations have been light for the most part. Pretty much what Rhonda and I called for. The problem spot as always, has been at the west end of the gorge. Were seeing snow and blowing snow Troutdale, Gresham & Camas. Accumulations so far have been around 1 or less. The east winds are causing some minor drifting. Radar is showing the main band of precipitation sagging to the south and east. The University of Washingtons WRF model for temperatures (my favorite) shows we should be warming into the upper 30s (37) later this afternoon. Thats backed up by the Time Height Temperature profile for Troutdale. The redline you see is the freezing point. Its almost at the surface now but will rise by later this afternoon. That should but and end to the snow there. In the gorge proper, no such luck .Expect continued gusty winds snow and blowing snow. East of Multnomah Falls it will be a winter wonderland through Friday. This time tomorrow Portland, Vancouver and the valley well be back to liquid sunshine and temperatures in the 40s. Yeah! See ya on the Television Dave
