RESOURCE FUNDING FOR CITY: Broken Hill will be eligible for Resources for Regions funding. It has been annonced that Broken Hill will be eligible to apply for millions of dollars in funding under the NSW Governments Resources for Regions program in 2014-15. Minister for Western NSW Kevin Humphries said the criteria for Resources for Regions funding has been expanded to ensure mining affected LGAs such as Broken Hill are eligible for funding. Through Resources for Regions we are reinvesting in communities that support the generation of mining wealth by delivering improved local infrastructure to those communities, Mr Humphries said. Broken Hill now joins Cobar, Lithgow, Mid-Western and Narrabri as the LGAs in Western NSW eligible for funding under the 2014-15 Resources for Regions program. Further details regarding the application process and the date on which the 2014-15 funding round will open will be announced in the coming months.
