RRCi Sneak Peek: AE RC10 Worlds Kit Ah, the early 90s...the era of Pearl Jam and the Seattle sound, flannel, the beginning of the end of neon clothing (at least, until recently)...and the height of the dominance of the aluminium-tub RC10 buggy! By the early 90s, the alloy chassis of the RC10 had been around for nearly 10 years, with the gold anodizing making way for black in the late 80s on the Team car (for actual Associated team drivers the tub was anodized an almost army-man green, by the way). In addition to the change to black, the famous Stealth transmission replaced the heavy original 6-gear transmission, the steering was significantly upgraded and better shocks were added. By the time the 1993 IFMAR Worlds took place in the UK in Basildon, the Team car was 4 years old, however Team Associated had the setup help of young upstart Brian Kinwald, as well as a multitude of drivers to help test setups throughout the event.
