RUNNERS!!! Got your attention?? Awesome! Little story and then a question. Today I ran a race, a 5k. I dont run much on a regular basis but I do love to do races. I run all distances up to and including 1/2 marathons. I can do these races with little run training thanks to my insanity class and strength training. However, its not easy-easy. Sometimes longer races I will have some soreness after. I have quite a few races on my calendar this year and would really like to start training more. I want to increase my speed...I feel like I have a pretty good pace without training so I would love to see what I could achieve with more focused training and the biggie...BEATING THE MIND GAME! This is where my question comes in! How do you overcome your mind during a run so you can push yourself harder and faster?? I listen to music, I remind myself how blessed I am, I think of my babies, I think of my big girls, I think about those who wish they could run but because of reasons beyond their control cannot, I see the older runners around me pushing themselves and lots of times it helps. Maybe it always helps because Ive never quit a race but how do you push out or past the negative that goes through your mind when you run? Does this happen to you? I cant say it happens to me every run but it does happen so I am curious and would love to hear how you get through it. A little video of todays fun! I honestly had a blast today although it was so cold!
