Randall Parker Foods Livestock Handler Job description Job Description Job Title: Livestock Handler Reporting to: Lairage Supervisor Responsibilities: None ________________________________________________________________ Role Objective: In accordance with current industry standards and in regard to animal welfare regulations ensure the correct receipt and movement of livestock after production. Working in accordance with seasonal demands. Hours of work will be 1pm-9pm Monday to Thursday anmd 12noon - 7pm on a Sunday. Brief Description of Duties: · Ensure effective movement of livestock through the lairage area into the abattoir; · Liaising with farmers / suppliers and being the ‘front face’ of the organization when accepting livestock to site; · Operate with due care and attention to all health, hygiene and safety standards, maintaining sufficient knowledge and compliance of such; · Job rotate effectively as directed by Lairage supervisor; · Liaise effectively when required with internal departments and external bodies such as OVS, MHS and DEFRA staff to ensure site compliance; · Liaising efficiently and effectively with the Abattoir to ensure the department operates in accordance with production levels and demands; · Ensure and promote the effective compliance of animal welfare regulations; · Comply effectively with Company procedure of checking the pen / stock cards; · Enter accurately and quickly all data from ear tags as required at a speed required for prompt production levels; · Any other duties as required for the post. KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE Key Skills: · Knowledge of Health and safety within a livestock environment · Industry knowledge / background · Welsh spoken an advantage Personal Attributes: · Physically fit person · Good verbal communication skills · Speed and accuracy with attention to detail goo.gl/q511l0
